NICE
Airbus Crisa is developing the new generation of ICUs based in ESA ADHA standard, named New Instrument Control Electronics (NICE).
The NICE architecture is modular and based on two main groups of functions / modules:
- A set of core modules which implement basic functions common to all ICUs: Processing, Standard general-purpose interfaces, Power conditioning and Thermal Control
- A set of application-specific modules dependant of instruments need
Features
Main functions:
- System Slot based on the Payload Control Module
- Standard I/O module, for general-purpose interfaces
- Thermal Control Module
- Power Module delivering up to 80W
- 6U ADHA standard rack
Key parameters:
- Processing capability ≥ 1700 MIPS
- 1 GB processor SDRAM + 2 Tb NVM flash based, RS protected
- C&C external interfaces: 3xSpW, 4xSpFi (fibre), MIL-STD-1553B, CAN, DNEL/NEL, 8x GPI/O
- Configuration commands: 20x SHP, 8xBLV
- Analogue TMs: 22x AN2 + 96x ANY/ANF + 36x ANP channels
- Digital TMs: 20x RSA, 8x BLV
- 16x linear, 16x pulsed heaters drivers
Payload Control Module (PCM)
The PCM board is the System Controller of an ADHA rack with the capability to manage up to seven high-speed peripherals modules.
This module plays the role of System Slot of an ADHA unit. It is based on the high-performance multi-core GR740 microprocessor and a reprogrammable RTG4 FPGA, which provides the maximum flexibility to the product.
Features
Key functions:
