Airbus Crisa provides innovative solutions for many types of functions required by all types of missions, with deep heritage in almost all kind of electronics that can be embarked in a spacecraft or a launcher.
Each Ariane 6 flies with eight units delivered by Airbus Crisa, including the core of the launcher’s electrical system. The use of commercial components and lead-free soldering has enabled boosting the performances of these units.
The Centralized Multi-Functional Unit is a modular and compact equipment that contains the on-board computer, the power and communications management and the control of the electrovalves.
The Pyrotechnical Firing Unit is fully devoted to the firing of explosive devices, both electrically and optically triggered
As an evolution of the products developed for VEGA, Airbus Crisa supplies the Multi-Functional Unit (MFU) and the upper-stage electrical harness.
Thanks to its modular concept and new technologies, the MFU provides flexibility to the launcher and increases its performances, providing 80% more interfaces than VEGA’s MFU increasing its weight less than 15%. Key functions for VEGA-C are carried out by the MFU: power conditioning and distribution, MIL-STD-1553B 10-channels repeater, management of electrovalves, electro-explosive and non-explosive devices, services to the Payloads…
Airbus Crisa supplies electronic boards for two types of Ariane 6’s battery modules, 28V and 55V, totaling, typically, 28 boards per launcher.
These boards contain the overcurrent protection and the electrical interface of the battery.
